An applied lab for the last mile of AI.
Pre-training made language models capable. Post-training makes them useful for a specific job. We do the second part, for companies whose job matters.
Every enterprise we meet has the same pattern: a promising pilot built on a prompted frontier model, an accuracy plateau a few points short of what the business needs, and an inference bill that grows faster than the value it creates.
The fix is rarely a bigger model. It is a model trained on the judgment of the people who already do the work — underwriters, coders, analysts, agents — and measured against a standard they agree with. That is post-training, and it is still a craft. The tooling has improved; the hard parts are the same as ever: deciding what to measure, getting the right data, and knowing which of a hundred knobs actually matters.
Finetune the World was founded by researchers and engineers who did that work at frontier labs, hyperscalers and quantitative trading firms. We have trained models from 1B to 400B+ parameters, built RL pipelines, and run evaluation programs for systems used by hundreds of millions of people. Now we do it for enterprises, as a focused, senior team.
What we believe
Every serious company will own models. Not instead of frontier APIs, but alongside them — specialists for the tasks that define the business, trained on data no one else has.
Evaluation is the product. A model is only as trustworthy as the measurement behind it. We put as much engineering into eval harnesses as into training.
Transfer beats dependency. We hand over weights, code and know-how. Most of our revenue comes from clients who could run without us and choose not to.
